Sophy Chang ❀
BioSophy Chang (b. 1992, South Korea) is an interdisciplinary artist working primarily in soft sculpture and installation. She currently lives and works in New York. She holds a BFA degree from School of Visual Arts (NY, 2019) and an MFA from University of Delaware (DE, 2024.) Her work has been exhibited internationally in South Korea, China, the U.S., Chile, and Switzerland.
She explores the possibility of warmer coexistence, weaving threads within the self and between the self and others. Working across sculpture, installation, and social projects, she creates tactile environments that oscillate between comfort and unease, giving form to the tensions and complexities of relating to oneself and others. Drawing on personal narratives as well as broader social contexts, her practice seeks to open spaces where solidarity, understanding, and compassion can emerge despite difference.
